SHERRYs THREAD - My Gold Prospecting Journey

Winter prospecting benifits for men.... the beard.... Ive only been working on mine for a month but im proud enough of it to share. Sorry sherry, you should just buy one of those duck dynasty fake ones to keep warm on the river. <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1079373"/>

Duck! I couldn't grow that good of a beard if my life depended on it. Very nice.

The tobacco pipe I smoke totally completes the look!

Sherry I will be able to make it there on Friday after Tday. I will bring some extra firewood.

A quick glance at this pic and I thought Sasquatch had broken into the server room. Glad to see it's you Ducky. Nice scrub.

Awesome! Can't wait! If you can talk GoldWasher and AUFisher into coming that would be cool too!

Ugh! I'm dreading the cold... The first phase of our group headed up on Monday wants to stay at Mineral Bar with no electricity or water but I'd like to stay where there's at least electricity so I can put a heater in my tent. I have a 15 degree and two 40 degree sleeping bags inside one another and I still get cold in low 50 degrees WHILE SLEEPING IN MY CAR! LOL!!! Whatever will I do to stay warm at 40 degrees or below in a huge 10 person tent with no heater? In the rain nonetheless.

Yea... I'm kinda whining! LOL!!! ;-)

got a seat for me? or more rather a plane ticket? :)

Well Kiddo, that would be awesome to have you along however the extra seat splits gas money and campsite rental fees estimated at $100 each. But if you can get a plane ticket into Sacramento well will pick you up! ;-)

Hey Kevin,
With the Sniper, which do you prefer 3/4" or 1/2" classified material for best fluidization in the trap?

How often or after how many gallons of material would you suggest cleaning out the trap?

I plan to run as much material as I can on this American River trip but don't want to lose any gold. I plan to keep a water filled 2.5 gal bucket close by and just keep dumping cons into it and then possibly running that through a cleanup sluice later each evening.

Hey Sherry! This question is for kevin too, what is too steep to run the sniper?

Classify schmassify. It's a bazooka. We do not classify. We drop 5 lb. cobble on it and give it a scrape with the shovel. The only classifying is when dumping the bed, then through a hand held screen. Bring that thing to NorCal and you will go back a different miner.

Thanks GMojo! I look forward to it! I'll see you and EastForkLocal Wednesday evening. ;-)
