Short Hunt at School produces Silver

After supper, Doc2be, my son in law, and I went for a short hunt at a local school yard. First time for my son in law MDing so gave him the Ace 250...my son had the BH...and I had an old Whites Coinmaster D/B series 2. Well, it has been a few years since I used the Whites and the knobs were a bit hard to adjust...So I fiddled with it while the other 2 found coin after coin. Finally got mine set and about the 5th target was the Silver...a 1948 Franklin Half Dollar. Didn't know what it was at first...and after I saw all the shine in the hole I knew it was silver..We had a good hour and a half hunt...HH all and thanks for taking a peek. Btw..my first half dollar find...

You know, I love those old worn coins as much as the ones that come out of the ground in near perfect shape..something about them makes me feel more connected to the past..maybe because they saw more use and would have more stories to tell if they could only talk..
