silver eagles or collector coin at small town banks ?

has any body gotten good deals where no one bothered

to change the price on display coins at a bank ?

and i guess u have to ask if they have any for sale

and what the price is. if they dont have them out.

it seems almost every bank does sell collector coin

of some sort.

also some banks sell silver eagles. how does this work ?

it would seem like small town would be best to check.

google the banks in your region and start calling. There still is customer service left in this country although from some posts,it is waning in popularity. At $4 a gallon for gas, my cell phone is a boon to me. I call, make notes and when I have enough to justify the gas etc., I hit the road. Cold calling on banks for silver is an exercise in futility. JP

Having visited hundred of banks. I have only seen them at a hand full. Bought one for $26 plus tax made it $29 at the time silver was around $29. It seems like banks choice, but I did see more bogus state quarter displays are some other crap-o-clad coin. Only a handful had ASE's displayed and only bought one as on serious road trips it's all about time and driving time to cover as much ground as possible each day and after hassling them for halves don't want to slow the process or make to much work for a non-customer. Plus I was fortunate to pick em up back in the good ol days in the teens.

I bought 2 tubes last week for $640 each. Then for some reason they called me and said that they were out but were getting more in for $47 a coin... Guess someone caught on. Found another small town bank that had 3 for $40 each.
