Silver & Gold,Woods Hunting,New pic's from MPFISH

I got out to the woods again where i had all the luck last year.
I was detecting for almost three hours when i got a loud blast
in my ears. I see a tree that was sawn off not far from the same
area i found the 3 silver dollars last year so i start swinging away.
Five inches down was this 1890-o Morgan dollar. :thumbsup:

The flying blood suckers were eating me alive and just before i
found it i thought of Kirk PA and started saying wheres the Wilver.
Well i guess it worked.
I scaned the area for awhile and decited to head out detecting my
way out of the woods and to the mowed area and got a dime reading
so i thought. I was suprised to see this gold ring in the hole. Inside
the ring are markings written in another language...witch i wrote on
paper to show. Maybe someone will know what it means. :thumbsup:

On the way home i stoped at D Q To pick up some DILLY BARS and
as i was leaving i see MPFISH in the next line so i had to show him
my finds. MPFISH and i do some detecting together but he does not
like woods hunting. :coffee2:

Great finds, the woods are probably my favorite place to hunt. But sadly its over grown with poisen ivy right now. The last 2 times I went out, I got poisen ivy all over my arms, hands, and my face. I will go back in the fall time. :thumbsup:

I hate to tell you but hunting in the fall is no guarantee you will not get poison ivy. You can dig through the root and still get a nice dose of it. Wear your gloves and a long sleve shirt. It helps some.

My wife is Japanese and she believes that the writing is in Chinese characters. Although its hard to read and not all Chinese characters translate into Japanese characters she believes it translates into "Center (Middle) of the Universe." This would make sense because the character name for China is Center of the Universe or World. I hope this helps. Frankly, its a bit bizarre to see a ring that has Asian characters in it. Most jewelry I've seen over there is Western made or has English writing inside of the band.

Great finds but you take some horrible pictures. :icon_pirat:

Try using the macro mode on the camera and don't try to get too close. You can always crop the picture later to get a closer up view.

i agree with jason on the writing it resembles japanese but i think it is chinese, i can read a little bit of japanese but hs got a wife from japan id take her word for it.

Great day you had there. Many people hunt their whole life and never find a silver dollar. I've been at it for over 30 years and only found one. Nice gold ring too. I had to see that silver better so I resized it to get a better look. Very nice finds....Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

If you found 4 silver dollars in that location you may have stumbled onto a cache or hidden loot from an old robbery! there maybe more there!!! time for a heavy pounding of that site! but first you must bath in deep woods off!!!!!! I know that feeling!!! I found 10 Morgans and 3 Peace silver dollars in a Ideal Ball jar on an old farm 12 or so years ago!!! how far from the silver was the gold ring found? That strange writting could be makers and Jewelers marks!!! Good luck and hope you find more of those sweet Morgans!!! QUICKSILVER(appletree)

That silver dollar is pretty nice! Have that gold checked out by a jeweler, it looks very old and pretty high purity gold, it has a nice color to it. :icon_sunny:
