Silver Knee Buckle And 1812 Light Artillery Button

I took my dad to the stamp act cellar hole again, last time he was there he found a 1798-1810 Navy Button, so he had high hopes of finding something else good. I told him to go check along the trail, in case somebody dropped something on it. Right next to the trail he got a signal and dug a beautiful solid silver colonial knee buckle. I was next to the cellar hole, trying to go through the all iron, and got a slightly iffy signal. It ended up being my first military button ever, an 1812 Light Artillery button in amazing condition. So far I have been very lucky at this site, hopefully the luck will last a little bit longer!

Any military button was on my bucket list since I started metal detecting, but I never even dreamed of finding one though considering that there were no battles anywhere remotely near where I live. Miraculously, This site has somehow produced both a 1798-1810 Navy Button, and this 1812 Light Artillery Button within two weeks. I never could have imagined finding such early military buttons here, but I guess that it only further shows that you can never be sure of what you will dig up next!
