I took my dad to the stamp act cellar hole again, last time he was there he found a 1798-1810 Navy Button, so he had high hopes of finding something else good. I told him to go check along the trail, in case somebody dropped something on it. Right next to the trail he got a signal and dug a beautiful solid silver colonial knee buckle. I was next to the cellar hole, trying to go through the all iron, and got a slightly iffy signal. It ended up being my first military button ever, an 1812 Light Artillery button in amazing condition. So far I have been very lucky at this site, hopefully the luck will last a little bit longer!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

That's a beautiful buckle and the button is awesome, congrats

I know very little about buttons but that one looks like it's in amazing condition besides the fact that it's awesome! and the silver buckle!? amazing!

What a historic site! That silver buckle and button are crazy awesome finds. Every solid mid or high tone must be exciting there. Congrats!

Glad to see you both went home happy. Beautiful knee buckle and a stunning Light Artillery

That is the nicest button of that kind I have ever seen dug! And to get a silver buckle too. Wow!

Beautiful finds, both are really outstanding :icon_thumleft:

Stunning finds from this site. Soil seems to be very nice to the buttons you're digging there, and even the iron chape from the buckle. Well done!

Congrats on the relics. I really like that buckle but the 1812 button is on my bucket list not that one particular but any war 1812 button lol and yours look really nice

Thanks! Any military button was on my bucket list since I started metal detecting, but I never even dreamed of finding one though considering that there were no battles anywhere remotely near where I live. Miraculously, This site has somehow produced both a 1798-1810 Navy Button, and this 1812 Light Artillery Button within two weeks. I never could have imagined finding such early military buttons here, but I guess that it only further shows that you can never be sure of what you will dig up next! Good luck, hope you find an 1812 button soon!

Freaking insane, I would have freaked out seeing this stuff come out of the ground.
