Silver necklace & "Pieces of Eight" Pillar coin... nope!

Imagine what my reaction was after lifting this coin out of waist deep water along the NC coastline... I dropped it into safe keeping & kept searching the water. I soon after lifted a silver necklace that I even placed back into my scoop to see if the magnet would grab it. It is 925 silver and long & heavy! A few other pieces of clad and tons of trash in this spot I've only been to 3 times, but will return for many more. The first 2 trips produced rings that I don't think are worth anything (will check out later), but I love to lift jewelry from the ocean floor!

Oh, and back to the coin... When I got to where I could safely examine it, I quickly noticed on the back of the coin "copy". Still a great day!

The coin is beautiful ...too bad it's a "copy" . I have found some old "copies" , too, but your coin find is so interesting; I'd love to find a coin just like it!
