Wow, great button. Anxious to hear what some of our Gurus have to say about it. Sure looks colonial, but odd that there is no back mark. Congrats

Nice button. Definitely colonial. Back marks didn't start appearing until the 1790s.

Since I haven't found a lot of them, flat buttons are quickly becoming one of my favorite things to find. Awesome button. Congrats.

Thanks I wasn't sure when they started.

I enjoy them as much as coins.

Nice one, as many are just plain. The snow flake ? is a keeper.

Gorgeous button.

Wow! Nice button, still remember the day I found my first flat button. I found one, walked a foot or two then found 13 more!

Very nice button.

That's a really cool button. Congrats!

Very nice.
Looks pretty good too; especially considering how long it's been hidden in the dirt.

Real nice button, you don't see too many silver plated buttons. Very nice find!

Nothing odd about no backmarks, thats what I would expect for a late 18th C button. Any with a pattern are a good find.

Thanks Cru, that is the oldest button that I've found

Sweet button i want to say its Applied silver but the button looks pewter..

I cant see them hammering on a pewter surface but it may be possible.
