Silver Plated Knife - Brass Hallmarks

Can anyone tell me what these hallmarks mean I found this piece on a c1870 home site.
I have since identified the knife as being made by Holmes & Edwards, c1895 ‘English King’ pattern.

Are these 'fantasy' makers marks or do they actually mean something?

Though I cannot read the actual marks, they look like English silver plate marks to me, versus any made by Holmes & Edwards. It is a "Kings Pattern", I agree. Identifying the marks will tell you the maker. No, they aren't fantasy or fake marks. Just silverplated with no silverplate left on it. I would think the base metal is copper versus brass. This pattern was made in sterling and silverplate by many companies over the years.

Through the link you provided, I was able to determine that my knife is actually a 'Fish Knife'.

But I have my doubts as to whether the one I found is copper, I'm pretty sure that it's made of brass.

Here's an example of a 'Kings Pattern' Fish Knife in pristine condition, the one I found has the very same distinctive 'bevel' to the blade.

Actually brass is probably more common than I realized as a base metal for silver plated holloware and flatware. So I'm sure it is brass.

Plated brass cutlery is as common as blackflies & mosquitos are at this time of year here in Ontario!
