Today was 62 degrees and I did a quick hunt before it drops to 19 degrees overnight with 7 inches of snow on the way. My first park was a dud....only toasted pennies. Then I went to a smaller one with soft soil and had the best finds in 45 minutes! I hit the large old key as soon as I turned my detector on. The ring is sterling silver, but I am sure the diamond is a cz...it fits my left ring finger perfectly. I found it on the side of a hill. Next I got a solid 99 hit at 2 inches, and pulled out the biggest coin I have found to date: a bicentennial Full Dollar with Dwight D. Eisenhower on it. To finish it off, I found the cute yellow car.

Nice finds. Nice looking ring. Probably not diamonds as you said, but doesn’t hurt to check them. Diamond detectors are cheap and definitely worth the investment. Hoping they are real even though very unlikely but not unheard of.

Haven't seen a big dollar coin dug before that I remember and it's definitely a bonus that the ring fits you. That Santa Claus thing you dug up is cool too.

just in case you are not familiar with them, the bicentennial Ike dollars changed during production. The lettering on the reverse was changed from a block style to a more appealing thinner style font. To my understanding, the type one reverse was actually minted in 1975 for release in '76, and the type 2 reverse was minted in '75 and '76. This link shows how to tell the difference https://eisenhowerdollarguide.com/1976-eisenhower-dollar-varieties/

Nice hunt and finds. I have never found an Ike - I bet that rang up loud and clear.

I really like the key and good luck on your future hunts.

That key is beautiful! Nice hunt, glad you got one more in before the weather. Our digging season is officially over up here.

It is snowing in fits and spurts right now, Erik, with a whopping 12 degree temp. I THOUGHT that might be the one from CARS!

Thank you, Pete. It almost blew my eardrums off.....when I dug it up, it was so black, I had NO idea what I had found. Funny thing is, just about three weeks ago, I dug up a Kennedy half in another park that was a Bicentennial as well...GL and HH!

Thanks for the info, jewelerguy! I am totally unfamiliar with these, and didn't even know they existed until I dug this one. I keep holding in my hand to feel the weight of it....lol.

Nice finds! Congrats!

Those Ike dollars are HUGE. I have a couple but have never dug one.

I think your “key” is actually a bottle opener.

Yes it is -- good eye. Here’s mine—I’ve put it to good use! :occasion14:

Nice! I like the big Ike too! I can’t see the mint mark, but if it’s an S it could be either clad or 40% silver.
