We decided to take a drive to check out an area that I had researched. After returning home after a 270 mi round trip (didn't even take the detectors out of the Jeep), we learned that what you see isn't necessarily what you get.
But in 1927, it was the wildest, most wicked oil boomtown in the state. A huge gusher made a poor farmer a millionaire overnight and people came here from everywhere looking for work. The town couldn't be built fast enough.
The 1st couple of pics are what I researched and thought it might make an interesting site to check on. The following pics are what we saw when we arrived. The area had extra fencing around it and the owners weren't at home. Even though there wasn't any "No Tresspassing" signs anywhere, we weren't about to find a way in on either side of the road.
At least when you get skunked this way, you don't have to buy up a bunch of tomato juice.

Stoney, when you go back it looks like you better take your lawn mower, tractor and brush hog with you and cut a deal with the land owners.... Sounds like a good place to hunt if you get permission. Good luck and HH
