While I am typing this Birdman has completed his obligated service to the family (birthday party :occasion13:) and is walking the field in Duplin County, where we were at this morning. He was out there at the crack of dawn with me and Gxray but had to leave at 11 am. I got my first Williams Cleaner plus my first Indian spear point and, even though it has a broken tip, to know that it is probably in the 1000's of years old range is way cool in my book. Also got a bunch of camp lead, one of which upon cleaning I noticed one had an arrow like mark on it. Under my jewelers loop I could tell that the marks were not coincidental. Any ideas anyone? After Birdman left at 11:05am (yes, he was late :violent1:), Gxray and I went to another field in the area. I got my first big button, but I am unsure of its era. Gxray suggested it was colonial, but who knows. Also got the cast iron hook thingy. Any ideas anyone? While not a banner day in the wide outdoors, it was still a great days hunt! :occasion14:

Well you did not have a Great day today, at least you got to hunt.
To much snow up here.
The Hook is from a Whipple Tree. The Whipple tree was used to harness a horse to the load be pulled.
Good Luck Papa Bear

Agreed! It may be a little beat up but I was glad to get it.

As always fun hunt. Hope all of the fields are not planted when I get back. I was scoping the woods at the top of that hill. Pretty thick but it may be huntable. At least some of it.

Congrats on your first cleaner bullet and many many more to come!!!!
