Smokey is buried in Capitan, New Mexico, in sight of the mountain where he was found. Smokey the Bear Historical Park is open year round, except for holidays. I couldn't resist a visit, but the teens who gave me directions(I was still young, drove a new Trans Am, was totally COOL) laughed at me a bit while giving them.
