The sniper coil is only a lot smaller coil and it will let the detector respond depending on your settings. It is made for use in high trashy areas to move around the trash to find the good stuff next to the junk. With a bigger coil you may get two or more bad targets under the coil with only one coin. Change your disc. to ignore the iron and your screen will show you what may be down there.

Since it's small you can run the sens very high. In trashy sites run in the all metal mode and sweep slow. Listen for any beep other than iron. When you get a hint of that signal get your coil directly over it a wiggle the coil back and fourth no more than 1 inch. This will zero in on that target. Then dig.

PS. Run the sens very low next to iron like tot lot supports. You can get right up next to the steel this way. Work the coil slow.

Ok so I hit this old park today. I used the sniper on the sides of walkways and around trees. It worked pretty good. I tried to concentrate on the higher tones like Khouse mentioned. It worked landing me 16 pennies, 4 dimes, and 1 quarter. I did also get this bear button. It looks Indian but modern. I also nabbed this silver chain half buried.

I love that chain! Great find! Don't forget to run the sens as high as possible. Low around steel and high elsewhere. You'll find that it's a powerful Hostess Cupcake.

Same rules appy...run it with as much sensitivity as possible, and hunt areas where it will excell at, such as along chain link fences in schoolyards, along sidewalks, playgrounds near the play equipment and in tight spots in the woods. Good luck! I would never part with any of my sniper coils. :)

Yes sniper coils are great. You just have to remember that after the trash pickup its important to run with your bigger coil too. I found a gold ring the other day my aces sniper couldnt.

I use my sniper coil just about every where because i hunt mostly in the city parks and neighborhood homesteads that have been torn down so its trash-a-plenty. My usual mode is kept on coin....but sometimes i use a custom mode. i notch out everything but nickel, dime and quarter. That way I hit those three and all the wheaties. that mode ignores all the new pennies and only gives me the older ones. I put my sensitivity about mid range depending on ground and trash conditions. The more trash the less sensitivity. But play with that mode and see what works out better for you.
