Lets just say if something ever happened to me, it would take my wife a full day of driving to close out all my accounts!

Haha, I'd like to open 2 more, and I also just closed one account :P

Have you ever had a teller ask you...

"do you have an account here"

and you have to look around to try to figure out what bank you are in and if you have an account there or not?

Wow, I couldn't imagine keeping up with as many as you guys. I have 5 and that keeps me busy with remembering where I dump at and where my funds are at to withdraw.

I only dump at 2 banks, one bank once a week, and the other gets 9k a week :D. And I always get cash back immediately, then it goes straight to my ordering account :D

Two. One for pickups and one for dumps. I've thought about getting another, but I'm not sure I could explain it to my wife, and I'm also not sure I could really find time to do any more volume than I'm doing now. Or cycle through my bankroll any more times per week.

I hit two of my pickup bank branches weekly for halves orders, and there are a few more branches I hit 2-3 times a month, and another handful I could add in if needed. I dump regularly at 4 branches of my dump bank, and a few others on occasion.

I keep 3, Chase, Bank of America and a credit union. Chase is the dump bank, B of A is the order bank and the credit union is an order bank. I had a hard time dumping at first at the local branches of Chase, I would always have to give my account number and then when they saw the balance they would say OK no problem. Now they know me and never ask anything.

Homie I like to walk in a chase with a Bank of America envelope full of cash

ALL THE TIME!!! Lol...

I usually just say yes regardless whether I actually do or dont... Still havent been busted for saying yes when I dont...

I have accounts at atleast 10 banks that I can think of offhand right now... lol most are freebie accounts that I hardly ever use.

I have 3 accounts. I dump at two banks and pickup at one bank. My pickup bank is the the only one that doesn't have a coin counter, so that's why I chose it as my pickup bank.

12, about to be 11 cause one bank charged me for inactivity joe.

How about you dont be inactive?

Every few months I throw $20-$30 in each account. That stops them from being inactive and its a little extra savings as well.

As for the posters question, 5 accounts but I deal with 6 banks, one of my dump banks I have no account with but I turn in one $1000 bag worth of halves and usually take a $500 bag of dimes and $100 in nickels each week so I save them on shipping out coin.. except for the last two months where they have had no coin for me to take.. bummer.

This is funny I was going to ask this question yesterday too.

I just opened my 7th account.

I only have 2, pickup and dump, Brinks Garda, easy peeezy, I don't see the need for anymore, I have plenty to pick up from and dump at, I have been able to do up to 36 boxes a week with only 2 and no problems. After years of doing this, you will end up figuring out which branches you can go heavier on ordering and dumping and won't need 5+ accounts. I can order 8 boxes a week from my order banks if I want and have dealt with my dump banks long enough that I don't need a bunch of banks to dump at, I use 5 branches every week to dump at, I don't really need any more but, I have plenty more to dump at if need be, I may open up one more just for the hell of it in the future, but for right now 2 works perfectly for me. Now, I only search halves so this may be why I don't really need anymore for now. HH, Maverick.

For those of you that have accounts all over town, is it generally just savings accounts? Is there any kind of charge in regards to opening up these kinds of accounts? I ask because I have an account with just one bank, but would like to add more. Just don't want to waste money opening up accounts. Is it generally an easy process? I've had the same account since I was a young kid, so I really have no experience opening an account on my own. Sorry for all the questions, but any advice is appreciated.
