I haven't been out in a long time, but I got back from 5 weeks of work and went for a hunt with my Bastaard buddies Bart and Charlie. The Basstards of Bramble reunion was excellent and there were many finds for all.

I found one large copper on the hunt which ended up in a week-long peroxide spa. The find that got me real excited was a beauty silver thimble. It ran up as a 12-44/45 on the CTX. Here's a pic of the top ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1509497749.657977.jpg

1837 Hard Times Token that I salvaged from absolutely terrible soil.

And the rest

The nickels suffers the most. But it's always nice digging the older ones

Stay tuned for more. The season is only starting now up here in NJ and I hope to get out a whole hell of a lot. cheers and good digs

Steve--great finds! Very unique silver thimble and Hard Times coin. Glad you enjoyed your hunt! Congrats. -Lisa & John

Nice to see you back on dry land and hunting with the B@stards of the Br@mble. You pulled some cool keepers. It seems like thimbles are everywhere, but silver ones are rarer and are a great find IMHO. By the way I have dug many tokens yet still have not dug a hard times token. I am hoping you are in port this coming spring when I drive east to dig in the East.

Hey bud. Say "Sterling" and the size "8". Its turn-of-the-century

Nice digs Steve, glad to see you back in the dirt. Man that CTX loves silver

Being back on the old dirt felt great and I wasn't gone nearly as long as you. It really makes you appreciate things more when you're gone. Cheers Jon

Congrats again

that soil is a harsh environment for the finds
nice to see it doesn't hurt the silver too badly...I like the thimble, it's a good find!

That area is notoriously terrible on copper items. Actually the us Basstards have a saying in that area..."Silver or bust".

Wow Scrappy,, haven't seen a post by you in awhile.
Nice to see you posting some cool finds
The Silver Thimble is my favorite.
Congratulations

Yeah buddy, I've been away for work but it's great to be back. This hunt with my friends was just what the doctor ordered

Nice stuff buddy, hope to see ya soon!

I can't get away from work to head your way on the upcoming DIPA reunion tour. I took off Monday to chill with the boys. Heard you were coming;)

That’s one nice and solid timble.
Excellent hunt

That’s one nice and solid timble.
Excellent hunt

Thank you. One thing I've noticed about thimbles is the brass ones are often crushed somewhat. The silver ones I've found have both been intact and uncrushed. The only brass ones that have survived for me were thick ones from the 17th and 18th. Centuries
