For those of you in the Michigan Metro-Detroit area, I hit Metro beach this morning at 6am with about I'd guess 30 other detectorists for the opening day. For those not from the area, they open the beach up for metal detecting the day after labor day every year until the following spring.
Didn't do as good as I hoped, but not bad. This was my first time getting into the water and wading out with the other crazies in my 20 years of metal detecting. It was way more fun than I thought though you beach guys must be all muscle cuz I am SORE after swinging the detector in the water for 4 hours. (btw I think I was the only one with an XLT in the water.. haha)
Some of the usual clad coinage plus a '41 wheatie. Add to that a pewter angel pendant and a gold cross that says "705" and "22 VI" as far as I can tell. Not sure if its gold or not, but it sure looks like it.
