Caught a little jag of day fish today. Cleaning them and having some for dinner. The rest I?ll package up and freeze for another day.

Hi DD, I think these are a type of smelt but we call some day fish and others night fish. These are caught alone the open coastal waters using large two hand dip nets in the incoming waves. What we call smelt, or jack smelt are mostly caught when they enter out harbors with throw nets or cast treble hooks and line. The smelt are larger than the surf fish we catch.

No oceans near here but I do like me some fish,fresh crappie or bass,a nice mess of goggle eye and don,t forget flathead catfish!
