That is a good question about learning the materials in your area. I ended up downloading known types and materials for my area and building a library to refrence from. Kinda unorthodox but it has helped me some. That and posting here.

Should have a few more pieces on in a couple hours. I've got a neat little broken full groove axe that my son found the bit and I found the heel this last spring. One of my fav's since we don't find alot of hardstone tools.
