Some shutdown!

Them that are layed off will be able to draw unemployment for 2 years, and unemployment is darn near full wage, and when they
go back to work they are going to get their back pay. That's what happened last time. It's all just BS. Don't watch TV news, instead get out and find some more pull tabs, you will live longer.

Oh it's better than that, Our fearless Senator, who also use to be our fearless governor, said that everyone on furlough, or affected by it, needs to be reimbursed.
He went so far as to name convenience stores, gas stations, cafes and motels in his little interview. He makes us all so proud!:BangHead:

I work at a government building and find it interesting that even though a lot of employees are not at work and are told government is shutdown there ganna get back payed for not working which is great and a lot of families will benefit from this but think about this at any other company if you have no vacation time or sick leave and you call in you don't get payed.if your company shuts down due to whatever reason employees do not get payed a lot of employees here at least look at it as a vacation instead of something that's hurting.I can only speak from this facility and even when this building is full there's not a whole lot of work going on.......I've learned that this place is basically a hang out spot for employees makin 100,000 plus a year or ready to retirees just waiting to finish there time to be honest government is still running smoothly to a point just makes you wonder what the other estimated 800,000 employees that aren't working right now really do not all but some are fillers ( just my opinion)

And therein lies the problem in a nutshell when it comes to this single form of Government waste. My question would be... If all the non essential personnel are still going to be paid (via back pay) then what exactly are these fools accomplishing with this so called "shutdown"? I mean other than citizens not being able to visit federal parks, monuments, museums and the WIC program, I see nothing that is really being adversely affected. Here is a list of all the agencies, number of employess and how many will be on "furlough" while in shutdown mode-

Here is a list of all the agencies, number of employess and how many will be on "furlough" while in shutdown mode-

okay, my wife and I are arguing because we don't agree on what type of insurance we can afford for the kids. This disagreement has evolved to where we have decided to tell the gardener, the pool guy, the newspaper boy, and the chiropractor that we will not need their services for an undetermined length of time. We also cancelled Dish network and the phones can only be used for 911 calls. We have placed barricades around the swing set because we don't feel the grandkids can enjoy it without supervision. Due to spending cutbacks the bird feeders are now empty and I no longer put food on the front porch for the stray cats. I was way behind on my VA claim papers but now I have cut back on my efforts significantly. The vehicles are in need of some preventative maintenance but hopefully nothing serious will happen before we make up. I'm sure we will eventually work this out. Heck, we've already agreed to pay everybody what we would have normally paid them had we received their services. Heck, we might even give some of them awards for having to work harder to catch up on what they haven't done. Guess the only ones that are gonna suffer are the birds, cats, the grandkids and the timeliness of my VA claim. So, what have you guys been up to besides watching the Redskins? You know cris, there is an element out there that wants to get rid of their name? If that happens maybe I can get them to quit calling Notre Dame's team the "Fighting Irish" and stop representing us with a leprechaun mascot in a fighting stance. What do ya think??

My son in law just lost his job. My best friends two daughters hours just got cut to keep under the healthcare law maximum amount of hours, at work a quadzillion people just got pink slips, my friend from church is out due to the furlough as is another friends' husband.

Oops, due to the wondrous life we all have and how rich we all are, I've got to go out and feed the unicorns again. Gotta go!

This is what happens when the sheep vote for change... twice. I guess the first time they didn't bend over far enough.

Chadeaux,

We are too far apart ideologically to discuss anything even remotely policital. Thus, I will not be responding to any of your questions or statements. However, I am an avid NFL fan and would be happy to discuss, argue, or debate why my Redskins are doing so poorly this year.

I play fantasy football. I am known for drafting a player and in return he gets hurt or just sucks. I have takin out greats like Emmit Smith, Payton Manning and many others. I drafted Griffin this year im sorry crisp. Go PHINS

BALANCING A BUDGET
STEP 1 DEFAULT ON ORIGINAL BILLS
STEP 2 WATCH MONEY IN BANK ACCOUNT GO TO NUMBERS USUALLY NOT SEEN DUE TO THE FACT OF NONE PAYMENT OF ORIGINAL BILLS
STEP 3 PRETEND LIKE DEFAULTING ON ORIGINAL BILLS WONT CATCH UP EVENTUALLY
STEP 4 MAKE NEW BILLS THAT EAT UP BANK ACCOUNT
STEP 5 CONTINUE TO NOT ANSWER PHONES OR MAILS ABOUT ORIGINAL BILLS
STEP 6 ARGUE ABOUT WHOS TO BLAME FOR ORIGINAL BILLS
STEP 7 TEACH OTHERS HOW TO BALANCE A BUDGET: -)
STEP 8 BARROW BARROW BARROW
STEP 9 WATCH CREDIT SCORE DECLINE AND ARGUE ABOUT WHOS FAULT IT IS
STEP 10 REPEAT STEP 1 USING REPLACEMENT BILLS FOR ORIGINAL BILLS
I AM 100% CERTAIN THAT THIS MENTALITY CAN ONLY BE FOUND IN POLITICS....O DONT FORGET TO PAY YOUR TAXES
