Thanks helix and vhs, I'm still not 100% certain. Whats the other side look like, hollow?
I'm thinking possibly an old insert in the bottom of the receiver. I was thinking possibly part of the bell part.
I was going to say, don't take my word as gold. We may need more help. lol.

I figured it was telephone mouth piece, just having someone confirmed it good enough.
