Something different...

[River Rat]

have any of you ever found one of these?

Strange as it seems and believe me, it was the first time to ever see one myself. When I dug it out of the ground, I thought I had found something really interesting till I flipped it over and saw TJ starring back at me. I had to do a "google" search to find out what this thing was. Well, so much as to finding gold, silver maybe next time

Hmmmn, maybe you need to get out more and spend more money to get change!

Heck, I hardly find any nickels at all, so to find one of the new types would be fine with me.

[Gypsy Heart]

Isnt it funny we all recognize the older stuff but not the new! Another find for your collection. That new stuff sure breaks down fast in the soil tho.....

[DiggerBug]

Makes your heart pound for a second when you first see it...funny how at first glance the mind doesn't recognize it as what you use everyday.
Nice adrenalin rush though..

[Mirage]

Yeah, it is weird digging up the new design type stuff. You don't recognize it at first.

Since they came out with Debit Cards I seldom use money anymore. I don't believe I've ever seen one of those nickels. Nice find.

[Trash Digger]

have any of you ever found one of these?

RR

Hi, River Rat. I found one of those nickels about 3 weeks ago when I was going over a playground area. The US Mint has made several nickels since 2004 commemorating the westward movement. You can see them all here.
