Great video djpitr, beautiful little area you and phil are working - nice and peaceful. Have you tried running a mini sluice? Its a small creek, but I've had some luck daming those small creeks and running my mini bazooka. It's some work having to dam the creek to create the proper flow, but you should be able to run a little more material. But I do like working a creek like that with just a pan and shovel, taking my time and enjoying nature. Gotta love that carolina gold :laughing7: Keep the videos coming and great picture quality too.

Thanks sluicelee
We are not allowed to have sluice, sure it would by faster gold :) bud i dont mind playing in the gold bering creek with just pan , on beautiful day . I just need to see little color , i dont do it to get rich :)
Bud i would like to get , maybe couple of cool guys together and go camping to T.N. on bigger river with gold where we can use sluice .
Weekend of rustic camping , fire, creek , gold cant wait for summer .

some test samples from a local creek

Thats pretty good , you sad you need helper :)

Hey djpitr, Its always good times when you can get out on a nice day, no matter if you find much color or not :-) I've never prospected in TN, but here theres gold there. I have yet to stay overnight at a prospecting site, but heard thermal city is not a bad stay, fairly reasonable cabin rates too and you can always bring a tent. I've thought about heading up that way when it opens, atleast that way you can get some of the flood gold thats developed over the winter since its not open.

Hey Drake, thats yellow metal in your pan :-) Not sure how much material you worked to get that, but it looks great. Keep at it

Yes sluicelee , Thermal city is great , i been there couple of times last year , great people there and good gold , camping nice too , i have video on youtube from last year common dig at Thermal city . I will go there couple of times this year also :) , any of you who never been there your need to go , u can sluice , dredge or whatever ,

I just saw this thread and figured I'd invite you falla's over to the Eastern US Prospectors Forum.
You may be able to make some friends and get some access to some locations.
As to Astros post you must consider that most people that get involved in prospecting don't stay in very long because of the difficulty in finding locations that they can access as well as being disappointed by the small amount of gold we have in our area.
A lot of times these are the folks that cause problems, not intentionally, but because of lack of knowledge.
If you do your due diligence you will be rewarded. Wes

Hey Goldg'tr thanks for the invite is this a separate website?

Hey Wes, just joined recently. Its nice to have a forum for us southeast prospectors. Cali ain't got all the gold :icon_thumleft:

G1, it's 10pm and you shouldn't prospect in the dark. Prospect during the day, run your cons at night and while their running check tnet. You know that :-)

im still learning sluicelee but I'm catching on ... I'll get there befor long ... I hope anyway

Got out yesterday, great weather to get out and play in the creek :-) Got a bazooka gold trap last week (prospector model), I've had the super mini model for about a year now. Ran the prospector for around 2 hours and feed it unclassified material. Worked some cobble on a clay layer and the bank next to the cobble. My take weighed in at .048 grams, not quitting my day job, but it felt great getting out.

Nice I went fishing didn't even get a good snag..

Good start with the new sluice :)

Hey G1, sorry you didn't have better luck on the water, hope they bite next time:icon_thumleft: but I had a great day on the creek, found some nice gold

Hey Kevin, I had a good start with the bazooka, enjoyed not having to classify. I probably test panned for about a good hour or two, setup the bazooka and ran it for about 2 hours. After a quick clean out of the bazooka, panned around for another hour. So all in all, put in about 5 - 6 hours yesterday and most of my take came from running the bazooka. So I'm plenty happy with the results - one of my better days for sure :-)

Great to hear and glad you had a nice day out. I was out today and feel especially lucky when I see the winter storm reports on TV after being out on a creek in the sunshine...am I right?!

Sometimes I sample by running the azooka for 15 min and doing a quick clean out. I feel that I get a better sample that way.

Nice color, sluicelee. Too cold for me to play in a creek!
