Hey indy , thanks. Got that bazooka last week and finally had some time off, so I just bundled up and hit the creek. Its too cold for me now too, but that hardpack was calling my name over the weekend :-)

Doug, whats going on brother, nice chunkies, I see your clean up table in the pic - I think its working:icon_thumleft:

Good luck with the new sluice, sluicelee. I have a frame that ebuyc made for me and my bazooka. You need to try it sometime. Works great in bigger creeks and rivers. Good luck. Hope you find lots of gold.

Hey indy, that frame sounds like a great idea. I usually set mine up with rocks and occasionally use metal stakes around the front to keep it from moving. But that frame would definitely make setting up and taking out of the water easier, probably keep the waste material from building up so quick around the outlet too. I've got one area in mind where I know that frame would really come in handy. I'll google ebuyc and see if I can find his frames for sale, but if you have an extra laying around let me know. Would you accept gold as payment:wink: Don't have much, but I got a little :-)

Sluicelee, Chance(ebuyc) is on the Canadian Gold Forum. I don't remember the cost but it is a nice frame. EZ to set up and ez to lift and set the sluice in. You are right. No more clearing the tailings behind the sluice with this frame. Astro made me a killer double drop riffle sluice and I got to use it last weekend. I will show it on the next video. I will let you try it and the Bazooka frame one weekend.

Indy, that would be awesome! Your frame and one of Astro's drop riffle sluices - gold doesn't stand a chance :-) Can't wait for the new video, always enjoy watching them.

I joined the East coast Prospectors site about the same time as this one. Just in case you do not go there I posted a nice faceplant into some shards of ice today, won't make you go there so...

Who says prospecting is easy?

Dang Phil, you need adult supervision bro !

I'm in Irmo. I have done some prospecting around South and North Carolina, but the biggest problem I have is WHERE to go. The national forests are panning only. If I can't sluice, I just dont see spending the time to pan. I'm interested in finding like minded prospectors to combine our efforts. I have a growing collection of prospecting equipment. I propose to anyone in reasonable driving range who has information on where we can legally prospect with sluices, and I'm working on a 3" dredge, to get together and go get some gold! I have contacted DHEC about the state rules on waterways and streams, which many are public property. I have a letter from them stating that dredging is acceptable in South Carolina, but I fully expect to have to deal with law enforcement. I have some places I'd like to try out. If any of you are serious about combining efforts and information, I look forward to hearing form you.

Hey SCstar, I feel your pain. The biggest problem for most prospectors, is where to go. Have you tried contacting the landowners in the areas you want to try out. I would try and talk to some of the people in the areas you want to prospect and see if you can get permission to prospect their land. If you go back earlier in this thread you will see some info on GIS maps that may help you out. You can go to South Carolina Assessors - Your One Stop Portal to Assessment, Parcel, Tax & GIS Data for South Carolina Counties! and choose your county to get you started.

Looks that way. I was just making a path through some tough vegetation in icy waters for Peter and when I came out into the clear I think my adrenaline kept me going which was a mistake but I am only human:-\

Just from todays beautiful day

Still very pretty and chunky, especially by CO standards!
