Got out for a couple of half day hunts this week. Targets were hard to come by, but at least a few decent quality items showed up. Aside from an unexpected cob and a strange little cut copper, a large decorative leather ornament was also dug along with a few misc buttons and musketballs. The ground cover in the cultivated fields is quickly getting out of control due to the extremely warm February (3[SUP]rd[/SUP] warmest on record), so it looks like this season will have an earlier than normal ending.

I'm with Cru here. These chunks of silver are something we probably never get under the coil. I will not say it's on top of the wishlist, but definitely a must have for any serious detectorist. Congrats Bill! :icon_thumright:

Congrats on the old Spanish silver and cool old relics. Also Congrats on the success of your book selling out so quickly. So glad I jumped on the chance to get mine. You are a true friend to this community of treasure hunters.

Nice looking chunk of silver - congrats.

You US guy make me sick, you find these all the time & although I now have some earlier Spanish Silver & even some later, I can't get in the middle with a Cob!

Oh my! I never thought I'd see you show the slightest bit of envy for another's finds with all the super cool coins and relics you have amassed! WOW! You are HUMAN! I reckon if anyone has a chance at a Spanish cob you rank near the top of the list mate. Honestly I reckon NO one checks off every target on their bucket list though. Still we enjoy this marvelous journey.
