Been lurking for a while, decided on a Tesoro Vaquero. First Day with it decided to take the son in the backyard and what do you know a Spanish Reale in Virginia. Found about 4 inches deep near a large tree in my yard. Appears to be 180? . Think the son is hooked now.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet :notworthy: Yep you guys are hooked :tongue3:

A great find. Congratulations! Date looks like 1808, I think. If you wish to clean the coin, try dipping a Q-tip in acetone (fingernail paint remover), and wipe first one side, then reverse the Q-tip and wipe the other side. You should get a cleaner coin. Acetone will not remove silver nor pit the coin, and only reacts with organic material.

It dont get much better than that on your first day. :icon_thumleft:

congrats on a awesome find on your first outing and didnt have to go far either!!

That's a highly unlikely first find and the fact that you found it your first time out in the backyard, I'd say that would hook anyone :icon_thumleft:

WOW!!What a first "find"!Since they were legal tender into the 1850's one never knows where they will appear!!
