Spent Sunday in the dirt, plus picture of original house!+ large cent cleaned.

SteveO (or you can call him Grandma) and I went to play in the dirt on Sunday. First picture is SteveO in the field trying to keep up. Then the stuff I found, two buckles, a musket ball, a small button, and a 1837 large cent. I got the 1837 soaking in oil right now, but it should come out good. Ill post it later when cleaned.

Re: Spent Sunday in the dirt.

Nice suspender clips! I don't think I've ever found any two that were the same. It's kinda cool to see a pair.

Excellent work on the LC too.

Nice finds, I hate oil soaks. Lots of time and mess for little effects.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Re: Spent Sunday in the dirt.

Really rare for me to actually find a photo of a home stead that was torn down long ago, but in this case I did find one. Benjamin Garrett Fowler lived in this house that was built in 1842, but I have no record of when the home was torn down. It is listed on a 1892 plat map so I assume it was still there around the turn of the century. Ben Fowler was Indian and his relatives moved to Wisconsin from New York in the mid to late 1830's.
