Spring Sunshine And Finds

It was a perfect spring afternoon today. Lovely warm sunshine and blue sky's. Watched my son fishing for a couple of hours, then hit a field on the way back home. Managed a few finds, in a session that was dominated by plain buttons. A copper of William III, a nice leather mount, a 17th century buckle, and an above average condition Roman bronze coin. All in all a pleasant afternoon. Robert.

Must be nice to find coins from over a thousand years ago. My oldest dates from the 1870's.

Good question, I would have to say, that overall complete buckles are rarer. Broken buckles though are common. Of course buckles in silver or gold, of any age are rare. Also Roman, Saxon and Viking buckles are rarer. Robert.
