I recently acquired 5 silver quarters (1 - 1952, 1 - 1957, 1- 1958, and 2 - 1964) and 1 silver half dollar (40% 1966), as a gift from my relative. I then thought about CRH, as I have heard about it once or twice. What is the best way to go about this? I am really excited about finding coins anyway I can :hello2:

Hunt pennies to test the water. If you got time to search. Wrap. Dump ect.

Thanks for the reply. What is the best way to dump the coins?

Go to a different bank you have an account with. Bring them there wrapped up and just trade for cash. "Never dump where you eat"

Thank you! Maybe tomorrow I will stop by my bank and pick up some rolls of pennies, see how it goes.

I just went to my local store and found 2 wheats (1948 D and 1953) only bought 2 rolls, not too bad huh?

Good luck! Maybe you'll get a S-VDB or a 14D .. Never know!

Welcome.

There is a thread at the top of this forum.

It is there for YOU to read.

It is titled BEGINNERS GUIDE TO COIN ROLL HUNTING!!!

You can't miss it. Well, I guess YOU could miss it. Cause you did.

Read it, front to back, top to bottom, every single post.

You will learn a lot.

All you have to do is read.

Happy Hunting!!

Since you're in New England, don't hunt quarters since Wicka is there to take them all.

Wooowowowow. Who's comming on my turf?!! Ill break out the squirt guns bro!
Just playing. Like I said. Pennies! Been getting 35+ wheats per a box. Waiting for a Indian head :)
Good luck

:hello: Welcome to the hobbey & TNET. As Solid Rolls said there is the thread "Beginners Guide To Coin Roll Hunting" at the top, read it as it will give you much information. Don't be afraid to ask questions, most people here will be glad to answer them for you. There are some who will give you a hard time but they are in the minority. Just be forwarned that this hobbey can be addicting.

I can agree with CW3 about it being addicting. I was just watching the football game thinking, "man I wish I had a box of coins to search right now!"

Whats the BEST way to go about CRH? .

Whats the next best way, dimes. Dimes will give you $250 per box, at 1.25-1.60 silver dimes per box. Additionally, when you stop by banks to ask for dimes...aske for halves first. Halves are your best bet for the most bang for your time invested.

Develop thick skin, and have a relentless work ethic and you WILL succeed in this hobby. ...be relentless.
