Sterling Aviator's pin and 1943 Merc dime
Hello!
I got out for a couple hours yesterday with my good buddy Ron. Lately I haven't been doing too much detecting locally but yesterday I needed to get a quick fix!
Ron and I headed downtown to areas we've pounded in the past but figured there's gotta be something else that we left to be found down there. Ron dug a couple silver treasures, and I dug a 1943 Merc dime and a sterling silver aviator's pin! I also dug 4 wheat cents and plenty of pocket change too.
Anyone have an idea on the age of this pin? It is marked STERLING by Cora (see close-up picture).
Thanks for looking!
Neil

after cleaning out my treasure pouch I discovered another treasure that I didn't realize I had dug yesterday! U.S. NAVAL RESERVE HONORABLE DISCHARGE button thinky!! I remember digging this yesterday but I only looked at the back side ~ I assumed it was just a piece of scrap copper or brass. I alway save the scrap pieces of copper and brass for Ron. After a few months of saving it up he turns it in and we takes me out for a burger and a beer!
