For Thanksgiving I decided to take my wife to a movie. Tom Hanks played Mr Rogers pretty well but the price of the popcorn and drink made the experience underwhelming!

Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Yep, been like that for a lot of years now. If you go out for dinner at a decent restaurant then movie with popcorn and soda, its easily a $100+ night.

Winter time...heavy coat...pack your own... drink & snack.:occasion14:

And they can’t figure out why ticket sales are down. Once bitten never again.

what in the actual he!!?

When I was a kid, I could get a double feature, news reel, cartoon, and a small popcorn for 25 cents. Am I showing my age?

20 bucks for popcorn and drink?
Not gonna catch me doing that

Movie theaters suck anyway...

If you gotta piss you miss the best part.

Cant smoke... cant pause... cant talk... cant sit in the partial nude without someone getting tiffy.

Bah... rum is better than popcorn anyway. :P

Dang,
You can feed 535 people in a third world country for that. Ridiculous

I didn't want to buy the popcorn machine, I just wanted some popcorn!!!

got kicked out for that , usher heard the pop top on my beer and came a running .

Think that is bad, try Imax 3d or some of those dine and movie cinemas.

We are lucky, have on multilplex here near where we live, tickets like $8.00 for matinee small popcorn $4.00 and Small Drink $3.00. but here is the kicker unlimited refills on popcorn and drinks. Not bat compared to the regal cinemas.

This is another reason streaming is so popular now. My wife and I bought an early Christmas present a 65" nanocell LED technology LG with the smart remote that we have on or 55" lg. On a pre-black friday sale I think it was $579 or $679.Love that smart remote. Our date nights are often at home if it is a move we wish to watch. Cheap grocery store popcorn and sodas and way more comfortable seats. We have the whole den to ourselves. and of course our Springer Spaniel.

OH ! an I forgot... a crucial thing... to me anyway...

The ability to...... REWIND !

When you missed a part.. OR wanna see the part again.

And packed theaters suck even worse when you got some big dude with an afro in front of you... or some chick with a pom from dew.

Or someone with hot bad breath chopping on jawbreakers and smacking and suckin away.

OR ...

Anyone else got a theater "peeve" ?

Judging by the way my shoes stick to the floors in some theaters there are folks who have found a solution to that problem. 'Course we have been to the movies maybe twice in the last 20 years. The Perfect Storm and Avatar.

Haven’t been able to stay awake for an entire movie since the second “Star Wars” film.
Even on the first date with my lovely wife I fell asleep snoring in the theatre.

If it looks like a movie I just wait until it goes on sale (less than $20.00) at the store.

its the holidays ,just like bad weather the corporate raise prices...buy five grain Italian bread at local p3333x store for 2.99 just paid 4.29 to make her happy, she made list.

I paid 10¢ for that Sat morning theater fun when I was that age. Been to a modern movie once in the past 20 years.

Now there was an era; for me at least. I saw the first Star Wars film in 1977 seven times in the theatre . . . with five different girls.

Married the last one. ;-). She also spent 90% of the movie Alien with her head in my armpit.
