Sticker shock at the movies!

Just saw 'Midway' two weeks ago. Wife and I were the only people in the theater. The last time I was in a theater before that day was when Pirates of the Caribbean 2 came out. I highly recommend seeing 'Midway'.

not a peveve, but a funny incident. theater was packed for "no country for old men" and only seats available back row so I had to sit next to a somewhat heavy young man next to me and his girlfriend on the other side of him. Well he had this habit of jumping every time there was a scary incident like someone getting shot with lots of blood. (quite a few of those scenes). One time he even grabbed my arm on the arm rest. So I could not see his girl friend and I just guess she had to be a nerd like him. But as we leaving the theater I saw her. A very beautiful brunette up in the model category. Go figure, maybe he was a top software developer or something. But you know all women don't judge a guy by his looks. My case with my wife.

hah, had that been my wife and I there would only have been me in the theater. I would like to see it. I will wait for streaming version.

Haven't been to a movie since jack Nicholson played some werewolf with some blond bimbo,
and that was at the drive-in. You can byob, snacks, & everything, ain't no one sayin' nothin'!

I can't remember the last sit-down movie I went to...
Tommy :dontknow: pinball wizard guy... :dontknow:

I don't even CARE about movies, (these new ones) more or less...
don't Netflix, hulu, roku, none of that stuffs, just don't care for it.

Very few shows I care for, other than for their entertainment value,
or to just numb the brain so it doesn't have to think for a little while.
I would probably like the Midway. I thought I saw the old b&w, as a child.
All the tv stations used to play war movies, before they signed off for the night.

If you're living life right, it should be better than ANY movie! :notworthy:
And in that case, me & those I know, should prolly be makin movies, lawl…
(they'd never sell today, too clean & just plain ole dumb fun mischief...) :laughing7:

Yeah i discovered that a long time ago, my gf likes to go to the movies and we spend about 20.00 for the two of us in reclining seats, popcorn etc in fact before the show you wait on comfortable sofas drink juice and have a muffin... Nonthaburi Thailand, ive seen most of the new films...

I will wait till I see it on DVD.

thanks for the tip though.

ALTHOUGH !

Some movies like that I would imagine would be "better" on a big huge massive screen... for the flight fight scenes and such.

A movie like King Kong etc... Ttanic etc. BIG things etc.

Give me the address of the theater Im going to sell popcorn and drinks outside lol

Back when I went to high school. we did not go to watch the movies, but, to made out with the girls. Those were the good ole days.

I was a kid back in the early 60s, my great uncle owned a movie theatre, granddad would take us down once in a while. We got in free and since they lived above the theatre, we went upstairs and I got to watch the movies from the private viewing area up there, got to go into the projection room and other neat stuff like that. I had to buy my own munchies though, but a large popcorn, candy bar and a drink was about a quarter if I remember right. Saw some great movies.

Yep, I’ve heard that back then you guys called movies “picture shows”. How long until the drive-in came about?

Movie theaters suck anyway...

If you gotta piss you miss the best part.

Cant smoke... cant pause... cant talk... cant sit in the partial nude without someone getting tiffy.

Bah... rum is better than popcorn anyway. :P

Hmmm. I hope you never sit by me in a movie!
