Came across a 1776-1976 Half Dollar Bicentennial. NO mint mark. Im not sure what kind of metal it is. The edge looks silver(see pic.) But the reverse is so shiny and has some type of metal bars on it. They are not attached though. And the obverse looks grainy. I did a magnet test and it didn't attach. So its hard for me to tell. Ive had some reviews of the coin already, but want to know a little more about it.

Anyway, hope someone can help. Three pics included. (Thanks for the re-sizes BioProfessor!)

i will go with canceled coin no mint mark In 1964, the mint mark appeared on the reverse, under the eagle's right talon. Starting in 1968, mint marks appear above the second and third numbers in the date under Kennedy's neck. Mint marks as of 2007 include:
Blank (Philadelphia Mint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), 1964–1979
P (Philadelphia Mint, 1980—
D (Denver Mint in Denver, Colorado)
S (San Francisco Mint in San Francisco, California)

I would go with a Philadelphia mint (no mint mark) bicentennial half with major damage to the reverse die which caused cuds (excess metal) that filled into the cracks or chips in the damaged die.

Could it once have been mounted to a money clip or something?

I would go with the "money clip or something". From here the "bars" look like they could be silver solder.

even regular solder

warm it with a small butane torchupside down & tap it on a wooden block solder will fall off.
