This is a summary of different objects I have dug yesterday and today on my property.
These are 2 old pocket knives I found detecting yesterday around a site where I believe there used to be an old carriage shed. The one on the top is made of iron and possibly could be a Barlow knife. The one on the bottom is made of brass with what I think is a decaying horn handle.
After I got tired of detecting, I decided to go to the old dump dating from the late 1800s into the early 1900s that is on my property. I used a small hand shovel and dug bit by bit away and found all these relics. From Left to Right: Larkin Soap Co. Bottle, Small bottle (guessing perfume bottle due to how thin the glass is and the bottle's small size), 1/2 of a Larkin cold cream jar, top of a stoneware jug with found handle re-attached, and a lamp burner with a patent date of 1892.
These are more objects I dug from the old dump this morning. Unfortunately it began to snow fairly hard soon after I had just started to dig, but I was still able to snag these items before I went inside. The odd shaped piece of pottery is another piece of the same jug that I found the top to yesterday. The square shaped piece is a horse tack buckle with out the tongue. The round object is a glass mason jar lid with a patent date of May 23, 1871.
