I have no idea what to think about this. My 25 year old neighbor stopped by today and told me he found this coin on a hill over looking the Ohio River east of Cincinnati. He is new to coins so he stopped by for my assistance and I couldn't tell him a thing about other than it looks like early European. Now what a coin like this is doing in SW Ohio I have not a clue. I have to take his word for it, he is a nice young guy. Can someone provide information on this coin? I told be he cleaned it with a brass polish LOL.

My guess is a modern reproduction of a hammered coin.

Yes it looks cast. But could be wrong...otherwise it looks like a hammered silver from Britain...in my novice opinion.
