SUPERB DAY:-) - ROMAN & MEDIEVAL

Last day off work before going back. Didn't want to waste it so got up early & went out detecting to beat the rain forecast for this afternoon. Specially after I froze my nuts off yesterday.

Did really well:

A strange hollow lead bird, no idea of date, maybe 1920s.

Nice Livery button

AMAZING condition Roman coin of Gallienus AD253-268 with Antelope on reverse. Never had this type before.

Nice complete Henry III Penny 1247-1272 & not the normal London mint but Willem (moneyer) of Canterbury.

Made up for yesterday :)

Re: SUPERB DAY:-) - ROMAN & MEDIEVAL

Superb day for sure. I don't think I would be going back to work, or even have a job in the first place if I could find treasure like that! Frozen nuts or not! ;D
That Roman coin is in amazing condition. It must be quite humbling to dig up something from such an ancient time , imagining the last hands that it passed through and the things that it would have seen.
Awesome finds, I love seeing the ancient stuff.
