hey all,

vp here, got out this weekend to a new spot we found. it's near the river and has tons of pottery everywhere, we think it's colonial but haven't really been able to dig yet because of the frost ... it was better this weekend but still needed paco's chisel to get anything deep ... so we mostly surface hunted and found some cool stuff - amazing what you see when you keep your eyes open 8)

take care and stay warm !

Those are some nice arrowheads, Kevin! That site is definitely 18th century, so head back when it thaws!

We got out yesterday and each found a copper and a pile of buttons. It was a bonus hunt for us Central PA'ers to get out in early January, so I'm satisfied until March.

Awesome finds, Kevin. I think you guys have located a nice Colonial site. Wait for Spring and the coppers will pop. I love those arrowheads. :headbang:

Kirk :hello:

only a preview of whats to come!

Nice points! I love sites where I can eyeball points and dig relics at the same time.

Wow if all that was on the surface I can't imagine how much there is to dig (drool)

That spot looks to have alot of potential ! I walked new woods and fields for 6 hrs yesterday scouting for spring with very little to show for it ! Nice eye finds ! MaineRelic

any hunt in our neck of the woods is bonus this time of year,,, I am in SE ohio... got out Sat a bit... was so much fun... congrats on those finds.. neat no matter what time of yr.. but esp in Jan

I love the arrowheads Kevin. I just read something about copper or brass rings found with detectors. They think that they were buttons made by knitting in the middle of the ring.Check out this link. Go to the Buttons 1 column , scroll to near the bottom of the page and look for the heading Those Mystery Copper Alloy Ring Finds. I find these rings at colonial sites and always wonder what they were. This is as good an answer as any.
