On Friday my T2 produced these finds all from a ploughed field so none were at any great depth no more than 6".The first a base silver denarius of Septimus Severus A.D.193/211 with a reverse of Severus sacrificing at a tripod altar. the next an AE Antoninianus of Salonina the Wife of Gallienus the reverse a Doe walking. She was murdered along with Gallienus in A.D.268. The last was found right on the surface. A colchester type brooch from the first century A.D. 80cm long.

WoW .. Neat! That T-2 seems to be a good machine.

That denarius is awesome!! and I love that brooch; they are one of my favorite relics. good hunt!

WOW!!!

A couple of 1800 year old coins in the same field?!? AMAZING! Going to hit it again? Keep us informed, please! Was this maybe part of a cache? Robbery stash? Murder most foul?

Wonder if that's where J.K.Rowling got the name Severus from?

Any Roman silver is a good day, Salonina is pretty hard to find as well. The Fibula is a bonus :icon_thumright:

That's an AWESOME Septimus Severus Roman Silver. Congrats.
