The F75 has DST, the question is, does the T2 Classic have it. DST made a huge difference when I upgraded my F75.

Agree with above except if you are going to spend $1500, get a Deus. I have an F75 and Deus. Both great machines but Deus is better all around. Though I like the sniper coil on the F75 for coin hunting. F75 can accommodate both coaxial and DD coils but, as I mentioned previously, T2 can only accommodate DD coils, so if you are going to spend more $ for DST on the T2, just go ahead and get the F75 LTD DST (or a Deus )

t2 Vs at pro

OK don't forget what forum your in.I own both , atp,t2se .if water gets past seals on atp it's still not suppose to get in to the unit and that's straight from Garrett videos. I would rather use at pro for parks and warter, great id.I use the t2 for fields, cellar holes and random woods hunts.it goes deeper than the at pro and is much easier to swing, but sucks near power lines.if I did more park hunts and stuff like that than I'd go for another at pro or one of the ace series, but I hate the ding tone on the aces . if I hunted 50/50 parks and fields I would go with the t2 its a better all around machine and the price is right ,don't no if the older t2 comes with the to coils or not ,but it's a great deal anyway.so again I own both and this is a honest evaluation and any one that used both can't disagree.hope this helps.

It's funny how things work! I haven't bought any of the above mentioned detectors. It's been a while and a friend of mine has a brand new Gold Bug Pro and he offered me to use it since he doesn't know how to use it nor has the time to learn it. So in the mean time I have been using it for the past 40+ days and it has produced some cool finds! Honestly I can say that it works better for me in high iron junk infested areas. I can beleive it sees the better targets than the ATP. I'm not bashing the ATP since by my own expirience its a very good machine! But it kinda filters out better the unwanted targets and noise. I kinda like this Bug Pro. But I still want a T2 or F75! I'll keep you guys posted!

They are awesome detectors. My wife has the non-Pro version with the 5in DD coil. Got it for $407 before the price went back up to $499. She absolutely slays coins with it down to 6-7 inches. Makes a mockery of a trashy park or relic site. The ID on deep targets is what really amazes me. Even the faintest whisper of a 7 inch dime will still be a steady 83. Bonkers.

I know the feeling man. I never thought that this GBP would work so good as a relic/coin machine! The GBP came with both small sniper coil and the football shaped coil and they both work great!

I can't speak for the F75 or the T2. I did have the ATP before trading up for the Deus. That made me wonder about the Gold Bug Pro you were using that was working so well for you. Is it the high freq making the coins sing like you stated? I took someone's Relic program and I run it at the highest freq and it's working very well for me. I really like the frequency options of this machine.

I would take the F75 just for the fact of it saving settings when turned off and it has a backlight.....those two are enough for me. Performance wise, I seen very little difference. Also, the F75 has a smaller iron range making the ID range for the "good stuff" a little more spread out.....liked that also.

I believe they are similar, both have boost.
There are common difference between all issues of these models, the T2 doesn't save settings or have a backlight...not actually a deal breaker on either for me, really.

The T2 has a much larger iron range and it might be more suited for hunting relics but I prefer the smaller section on the top end Fishers...I do extremely well in crazy iron sites with that smaller range.
The fact that there are no concentric coils available for the T2 might be important for some.
I have 2 DD coils for my Fisher and nothing is really a problem at all, even crown caps, with the right knowledge, but I also have an elliptical concentric and man I would miss it if I couldn't use that one when I feel like it.
Something special and extra sweet about that thing, the response, the tones, the sharp disc and very good depth.
I can definitely tell a difference between using that one and a DD and even if I don't use it all he time when I do use it every time I get that first signal the second I hear it I smile.

For these reasons I would personally go with the Fisher.

As a coin shooter who considers relics 2nd fiddle...I can say I don't really miss (or see a difference) the 0-20 iron range the Land Ranger Pro had over the T2 and Gold Bug my wife and I currently own.

Perhaps in relic hunting it can come into play where iron is a big deal....but for coin shooting...the T2 and Gold Bug lock onto silver and clad range targets to the point the audio disappears. I'd say the Gold Bug locks on even better than my T2....as the T2 will start to waiver once it hits whisper territory at 10-12 inch depths. The Gold Bug will not however....if it whispers...it will ID. Almost always correctly.

I've tested the XP Deus...F44...Ace 400...Land Ranger Pro and a few Bounty Hunters. Nothing comes close to the Gold Bug as far as locking on ID. Nothing I've held in my hands anyways. IDK if it has to do with the higher 19khz frequency...since that is supposed to not be so great on silver/clad range as some of the other machines I've used/tested. But there is no denying it locks on deep coins with ease.

If the F75 can id those last few inches into the 10+ range the T2 cannot....and you are a coin shooter....I'd say go with the F75. It does have more features a coin guy would want.

Being a coin guy who bought the T2 to "force" myself into relic hunting and away from the parks/schools....it backfired. This T2 slays coins very deep with a very solid ID. I have never dug so many wheat pennies in such a short amount of time. I'd be hard pressed to spend more for the F75. But that is just me....if it was not my cash buying...I'd be swinging a CTX3030 right now.

To tell you the truth it finds coins! So far I haven't found coins no more than 7 inches. Probably I have not been to a place where there are really deep targets. Even though it is a high freq machine it does see and find the coins! I found a 1951 silver washington at 7" ringing a consistent 90 on the GBP.

Ok I just purchased an F75 LTD Camo edition. It is used but saw pictures of it and honestly looks like it was a back up machine or was just used a couple of times! Comes with a brand new 5" coil, new carrying case and a Teknetics Hat! Now starts the waiting game![emoji15]

Cracks me up when people say the t2 isn't a coin detector. Learn how to use it is a beast.

I have swung an F75 LTD2 for about 2 years. I have dug pennies at 9"-10" as well as quarters at 10"-12". The deepest target I dug was a piece of old lead pipe at 14". I have never used cache mode other than playing around and do not use boost as much as I thought I would when I bought it. Boost increases the falsing so I mainly use it to get a better VDI on an iffy signal.
My normal setup is disc 1 through 14, sensitivity between 65 & 85 most places and 4 tones. I always GB and switch through the frequencies to find the quietest one.

My LTD is black, my preference. The last thing I want to hunt in the woods with is a camou detector, like I said, personal preference. Heck if I need to use my old pro pointer (in the woods) I wrap it with a strip of hot pink duct tape. Once I sat it down and it took me 45 minutes to locate it. While in the Army I thought a camou wallet would be a great buy. Soon after I got it home, it dawned on me that if I ever dropped it in the woods, "Good Luck" trying to find it. I never used it, even when in garrison.

I just got done reading this old thread on the subject but a lot of posts talk about other detectors and it was confusing. So let me express my opinion on both since I own both and I guess new people want to know the difference between the AT-Pro and T-2. I own both The AT Pro and the T2 LTD.

The T-2 is a bit more complicated to setup correctly than the ATP but both take a minute or 2 to set up.

Both are great units and will go deep. Both have a different modes for different hunting.

The ATP is much more stable on the beach and is so good (if set right) you will think it's turned off. The T-2 is a chatter box.

The T-2 is lighter but not water proof.

The ATP needs special headphones where the T-2 uses common 1/4" phones. (you can buy an adapter to use 1/4" for the ATP)

I find the ATP easier to pinpoint targets and it seems to have a better setup for that. The ATP screen shows when you are right over the target.

The ATP has only 1 mode for different tones Std. coin where the T-2 has 5 or 6 which makes hunting easier because you can tell by the sound what is down there and then check the numbers instead of watching the screen constantly.

The ATP has battery holders which can be bought anywhere cheap and really clip in tight. The T-2 doesn't and is a pain to load/unload the 4 batteries and should a spring/clip break it's back to the factory. (a common problem for Teknetics from the beginning starting with the 9000 model with 14 batteries.)

There are more coil options for the ATP

The T-2 is easy to turn off/on and has a volume control. The ATP is a pain to turn off/on and has no volume control. It uses the mode button for different functions.

The ATP seems to lock on to targets better.

The T-2 has a longer stem. I'm only 5'10" but the ATP makes me bend over and the T-2 is longer and more comfortable.

The ATP has a smaller screen and I need to wear my reading glasses to see it. The T-2 is larger and brighter and easier to see.

Both last around the same time on 4 batteries and can use regular or rechargeable batteries.

All in all IF I had to chose only ONE it would be the ATP but the T-2 has it's value also and depends what's important to you. If I'm going to the beach the ATP comes along. If I'm heading to a trashy park it's the T-2 and if I'm searching an open clean field both come along. You really can't go wrong with either one.

These detectors were both great in their day (I owned and enjoyed using both)...unfortunately Nokta is about to release a detector (Simplex+) as good as either for about $250 and that is where the industry is headed. Minleab is about to release a multifrequency detector (Vanquish) at about the same price point as an ACE 400. FT and Garrett need to wake up and start innovating fast if they want to stay relevant.
