Tejon depth question???

I don't care what coil you're using. The Tejon won't get good depth in the mineralized ground of most parts of Virginia with disc set at anything above iron. I've found that the Vaquero or any of the umax machines perform much better. When I first got my Tejon I thought there was something wrong with it and sent it in. Checked out perfectly. After I saw a Vaquero beat it head to head, I quickly got rid of it and got a Vaquero. I know the Tejon is a good machine, just not in mineralized Virginia soil.

I've had my tejon for about a year now & i'n still learning the language .

From my experience in trashy yards ( most older homes) the smaller 5 inch type coil is a great option ( I need one)

And in mineralized Georgia soil i've used it in , it tones on the hot rocks but when you go to pin point it does not zero in on anything & worked MUCH better than my XLT and in the area I still dug mines at 8 inches & a little over that .

In the woods it's a great machine , I do sometimes miss the vdi but after awhile you start to learn what its saying & you can judge depth by [ hold over] and the sound of deeper targets stays strong but is less faint.
My 2cents worth.
Also sounds like the op machine was messed up.
& Once you get ground balancing down "balancing" becomes easy as pie.
