Another place where Templar treasure was evacuated to from the Fall of Acre in 1291, was the castle of Limassol Cyprus.



This was the main headquarters of the Templars after the fall of Acre. Here is the plan of castle below.


Its was at this site the Templars housed treasure 150 thousand gold florins plus hundreds of thousands silver coins. And all the records and accounts of the Templar order.

Eventually the Templars moved their treasure to France.

Today you can visit inside the fort.



Inside you are walking in the footsteps of the Templars and a place where the lost grand master of order once walked.

Gaze upon the tombs of fallen Templars. The headless skeleton is reminder of the 300 Templars who surrendered after fighting a rear guard action in the castle at Acre. 300 surrendered to the sultans army but terms of surrender was not honored and the 300 Templar Knights was beheaded.



Most of all ya walking into the footsteps of history going back over 700 hundred years.
