treat every gun as if it were loaded.

Must be a pretty crappy "gun show". I've never been to one in OK that didn't require the action to be zip-tied at all times to prevent this very thing. Either the promoter is a lax POS or the seller is violating the rules and should be permanently banned from ever having another booth.

Hopefully no one was hurt.

nah, no one was hurt, ten people were injured though.

Every one has a belly button, and every forum has its ID10T.

Couldn't just let it go could you ... never let a good opportunity to insult go to waste.

Storys like this always seem to crop up. When I was doing a lot of gun shows I always got this question;" aren't you afraid with all those guns pointing at you",( I always set the table up with the gun butts out). I responded that I wasn't worried, only one is loaded, and I'm the only one who knows which one!

nah, it's like discussing greenhouse gasses. World wide scientists say there are now 440 ppb in the atmosphere, largest amount in 13 million years. Someone else says, "Al Gore is fat".

Guns don't kill people but there are an awful lot of dumb people that own guns.

Wow - my apologies. I made a statement hoping no one got hurt and it was stated in the Thread Subject - guess I had one of the Senior Moments!

Nice try D. No mentioned of the NRA.
No charges have been filed against the 69-year-old St. Charles resident who was handling the shotgun when it went off, deputies said. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The initial investigation revealed that the gun’s owner had completed shooting, and was preparing to put his 12-gauge shotgun away while he was inside the clubhouse. While doing this, the man believed he was putting a “snap cap” into the gun to protect the firing pin while the gun is stored. But he had accidentally placed a live shotgun shell into the gun instead of the snap cap, deputies said.
The man then pointed the gun at the floor and pulled the trigger. Shot from the live round struck the floor, then bounced up and struck several people, according to reports.
The three victims who were transported for injuries were all males, ages 81, 60 and 14. A complete list of all victims was not available. Deputies said the incident appears to be accidental, and that no charges are expected to be filed. Ship happens. To bad it wasn't at a FUND Raiser

VPNavy, you did nothing wrong. There are just a few folks here who can 't enjoy their lives without insulting someone. Sorry you were the one he went after.

lets see ....

This is what one billion (the number) looks like:

1,000,000,000

When you're talking ppb it's akin to saying that you have one billion air molecules in your mason jar.

This is what 440 looks like

440

That's like saying that of those one billion air molecules, 440 are green house gasses.

This is what 440ppb looks like as a percentage:

0.00000044 %

So, if forty four millionths of one percent is all we're talking about -- and you probably spew enough greenhouse gas during your cheering sessions for algore to cover grow a young forest --- it ain't really that much.

Bet if algore and his minions like you would shut up and stop lying, we'd be down to 100ppb in no time.

The poles are melting, glaciers are disappearing, temps are rising, storms are getting worse but don't worry. Nobody lives long enough anyway to even notice climate change. and the 1st rule of gun safety is point the gun at someone you hate and if it goes off and kills the SOB you can claim it was an accident. San Antonio justice...

Too bad about the accident. Those are bound to happen. I'm glad an anti-gun nut didn't run with this one (or at least not that I've seen). The worst thing a society can do is to take isolated incidents and make laws based on them

And, a lot of dumb ones that don't. So, whats your point?
Jim

my point is, "ONE WOULD THINK AN NRA SAFETY INSTRUCTOR WOULD AT LEAST FOLLOW THE FIRST RULE OF FIREARM SAFETY.

which is???????

Assume every gun is loaded!!!! And ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check for yourself when handling a firearm. That's what I was taught anyway.

1. I read the article at its source and I do agree that there was no mention of the NRA.

2. Not sure what you guys are complaining about being insulted over? No one said anything in this thread that could possibly be construed as insulting.

3. I have a question. Is it easy to confuse a "snap cap" from a live shell? (I dont know what a "snap cap" is.)

EDIT: 2. Correction, Chadeaux called Davest an idiot.

No its not if you are looking at it. Snap-caps are bright red plastic with a brass base. They look nothing like live shells.
