Relic Hunting
Spring planting prevented the Tenn. Trio from digging 500 relics total from the Williams Cleaner camp since we started hunting there last December. Today, we returned and hunted the stubble to see if we could hit that milestone and we did so easily.
It didn’t take long to dig from relic #496 to over #500. I dug #496 and forgot to mention in that short video that the dropped Type III Williams Cleaner bullet I dug was my 400[SUP]th[/SUP] CW relic dug in 2014. We had 20 or so relics in 2 hours and Josh had to leave. As mentioned in the video, the humidity was very high this morning.
Doug’s best find was a nice dropped Sharps Carbine bullet and Josh’s teardrop pistol bullet (shown) was the only one any of us have recovered from that site making it his best find. I had 2 Williams Cleaners, a .36 cal. and a .44 cal. pistol bullet but nothing special today.
Stay tuned & thanks for watching from Doug, Josh, & Quindy in Tennessee.

Fantastic job Guys!!!! Congrats to the Tenn Trio. :occasion14: I'm drooling over those CW relic display cases. It's a beautiful sight seeing all of those pieces of history displayed like that.
Thanks for the great video Q. Is it me, or does Dman get better looking in every video. I didn't know Grecian Formula came in WHITE. :dontknow:
Looking forward to seeing your next article and hunt.

I'm drooling as well. Ya'll go whole hog or nothing when digging a site and pick the bones to boot!! Keep on keeping on Tennessee Trio.

I'm jealous. Great work saving all that history, guys. Keep it up.

Yee haaa The big 500! That is great what a year each one gets better. I hit the big 500 the other day on my deductible when I backed my truck into that pole as Lowe's.! ha ha
Great job guys look forward to the article.:occasion14:

Big huge congrats to the three of you[emoji4] That is one accomplishment I don't think we will see repeated any time soon. Great video and nice to hear you on the other end of that camera Mr. Q.

Thanks OD and that site was supposed to be hunted out-LOL. HH Bud, Q.

Another excellent video Quindy. I hope that people know that this place was considered CLEANED out years ago. It is a real testament to you guys to be able to pull that many relics off of that site. Can you imagine how much was found there when it was first discovered? Oh, and DMan ain't right in the head. :laughing7:

I recall what you said Donnie about how hard the site had been hit. As to Dman, professional help wouldn't hurt-LOL. HH, Q.

Love those videos! Nice work guys, congrats!

You are in the same boat I am Quindy, going back to our old sites and eaking out a few relics. I really hope I can find a hot new site this fall as I'm sure you are too. It's just a matter of time for me. I might be able to get out three or four times a month, and since I want to find something, I spend less time exploring leads and more time at proven, but pounded sites. I hope you guys can find an untouched camp or picket post this fall!

The Trio is back in business:thumbsup:

Breast plate restored nicely..

That sure is a strange camp with all those cleaners man:icon_scratch:

Great video fellas..

Thanks Dawg, Steve, & JB.
Steve, we have new places with potential to check out but they are in snaky places & as you know, less than 25% usually have relics.
JB, apparently the Cleaner bullets were sent in a crate as the newest thing to prevent cleaning the .58 cal. Springfield Rifles. Later, they were packaged with each 20 bullets issued with pre-measured powder packaged in paper & tied on the 3 ringers with string. One theory is that since the 3 ring .58s were already in the field that they sent the new Cleaners separately. The soldiers didn't like them because they made the gun kick badly & the did a poor job of barrel cleaning. Due to the dislike by the soldiers, they discarded the whole box, left there, and the plow scattered the remainder. HH, Q.
