Texas vacation and point hunting

Looking to see where a good place to vacation in Texas and also do a paid screen dig?

TX hill country is where the main TX flint outcrops are. All that tan Cretaceous flint. There is a lot more colorful flint if you can hunt near the Trinity River. You can find artifacts made from the local slick black flint near the James River. I was taken on a hunt within Ft Hood yrs ago. It was amazing how much flint there was on that base. About every rock you picked up was flint. Being a quarry area there were thousands of tested and discarded Indian preforms but no finished artifacts.

Years ago I was working in San Antonio, Texas. On weekends we went to the Hill Country hiking and I always looked for points. I found 2, both with a little damage but still nice. There were paid digs in various areas of the Hill Country & I heard they were good for finding points. I never went on one.

Despite living here in Texas, I’ve not yet done a paid dig.
I know someone who has been going to the Rocky creek dig in Killeen led by Chad Thomas.

I see a nice Montel, Nolan and Perds. Maybe a Castrol and I might of spelled them wrong

The hill country is a beautiful area of Texas. It's full of artifacts. I would recommend it. The little town of Banderas is a nice place to stay.
