Hello,first year detetecting, only hunted about 3 months or so mainly during the summer and a few hunts in the fall , cold and snow and frozen ground has stopped me from detetecting, when i hunted i always found something, the last 10 hunts i found real good stuff, seem to be getting better, never hunted but a few older spots, found old coins, quite a few rings, gold silver items etc, 1000+ coins, thanks all for a fun year, all your post have influenced me to get out there and find cool stuff, good luck to you all in 2008 keep it swinging-------tg

holey cow ... you beat me out big time... but your finds are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to find some jewelry ( gold that is) your on a big roll..next thing ya know you will be up grading to a new detector.... EXCELLENT FINDS and love the jewls too

Hey man is there a D on the back of that merc. If it is a 1916 d then it is a key date and looks to be in extra fine condition. One coin site shows it to be worth around $1200.00. I found a 1916 recently but it was to worn on the back to see a mint mark.
