so my normal teller was busy today in town and i told her i'd just wait till she was free. some older woman i've never seen work there goes i can help you. I say. one box of pennies please and do you have any loose have dollars. she says sure one moment. she hands me 10 bucks in loose half dollars and tells me " i think some are silver, is it the pre 64 or 1960?" i gladly showed*** her that they are just 40%ers from 70 -65 but i would like to buy all the ones you have. 3 40%ers and a box of cents later i am a happy man..

nice finds on the teller tray 40%'s

but unless you found someone to buy them for about 18% over spot melt all you have is $1.50 in halves :-) At today's melt minus the $1.50 you spent on them you'd have $12.81.

hold on to em till at least 43-45 and get enough for a "strong" offer, varies from refiner to refiner (apmex is like $1000 melt minimum, CNI $500 face minimum, etc).

great find - you seem to be doing a good job of cleaning out the silver from the teller trays lately!

But didn't the gf have a nice score of halves from teller trays a while back - I think she's still got you beat again man.

dont worry i told them it was for a book i've been trying to fill. which i am. but i do have a small pile of duplicates. i told her to look for a 1987 P. that they're less common

All the old tellers in my area must be crh them selfs because they never have any halves and also give that go away LOOK! Congrats on the finds.
