THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

WSD, when you went through Okla., you must have taken a different route. One road out in the panhandle had Burma-Shave signs to keep you occupied instead of the milemarkers. :D

A He - A Miss - A car - And A Curve

He Kissed - The Miss - And Missed - The Curve - Burma Shave

Gypsy--If you win that covered wagon, you could change it to a vardo-

http://www.toadstoolfarm.com/vardo.shtml

I think that would look cool in your yard deco scheme.

Ok....I would love That!!!!!! But you guys are going to have to help hook it up for me so I can pull it home.... :)

Everyone just put my name on their tickets :D :D I will give it a good home!

Gypsy,you could always get into that checkbook and pick this one up;

If there's a big demand for these,I think I could build a bunch for about half that amount. And maybe even supply a couple of horses to go with them.Wasn't there also a two wheel cart they traveled in ?(I notice there isn't a bidder yet)

Hey, Warsaw, good to see you posting again. Missed ya. Don't give Mastereagle too much leeway....he just might launch into a never-ending "99 bottles of beer on the wall" count.....LOL ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

BTW, Warsaw, found a 45 rpm record of "Mule Skinner Blues" sung by Shirley Evans with the Sherwin Linton 1950's Rock and Roll Revival Band, recorded on Black Gold Records, a division of Sherwin Linton Entertainment Enterprise, Minneapolis, MN. Probably was recorded back in the 70's when Sherwin Linton was pals with Johnny Cash. If ya remember, Linton did a song named "I'm not Johnny Cash" back in the 70's.

Come on, MasterEagle...you're getting lazy....it's past noon here on the East coast...and I don't see today's countdown....are we going to have to replace you with a recording? LOL ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hey Mel,I remember Linton's song, but I haven't heard "Mule-Skinner Blues" by anyone other than by Dolly Parton the night she was first introduced at the 'Opry'.

Not to get into it too much but it was an ex-wife situation involving her and my son. I think it will all work out, but thanks for the concern. :)

Whew...Mastereagle, you had me scared for a bit. Well, considering that both you and your wife are nurses.........

Glad everything worked out ok....and really glad that I didn't have to take my shoes and socks off to count on my feet how many days are left. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Don't worry I got ya covered. The last time I was in the Appalachian Mountain country visiting my Uncle, he told me he wasn't purty smart he was real smart. He learned that if he took off his shoes and socks he could count up to 20. I looked at him strange and he busted out laughing at me. So I know Mel you can't be trusted to start countin on your own until we get to 20 days. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D ;) ;) ;) :) :)

Ok, Mastereagle, now you've done it.....99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down, pass it around, ...................ah shucks, now I've lost count! ;D ;D ;D

Some of the names that I see on the MDng list...haven't heard much from them....hmmmmm....is that a new tactic? Sneak up on us? LOL If so, Lordy, are they in for a surprise........after all, you've heard of the Jesse James Gang? Well, we're THE ROWDY BUNCH! Led by their scrupulous leader, Gypsy...posing as a mild mannered metal detectorist who hunts ghost towns.....and her band of ROWDIES....sworn to discover all of the buried treasure in Caldwell, Kansas....to fight for TRUTH, JUSTICE, AND THE AMERICAN WAY....plus all of the goodies that we can plunder....LOL

40!

Perhaps a more appropriate song would go something like this:

98 shredded aluminum cans from the lawn
98 shredded cans
Dig one up and then one more
97 shredded aluminum cans from the lawn :D :D :D :D :D :D ;D

The city council read all the replies and they have ordered more security for that week and three additional marshalls. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Why would you be excited about this hunt? Hmmmm. Well the weather is good here today. I just might go down and hunt our site. :D :D He He. Just kidding! Hurry and get here or I might change my mind.

Don't know if you were asking me or just being rhetorical but here goes. The number one reason I am EXCITED about the hunt is that I am getting to meet a bunch of you people that I send messages back and forth to every day. Number two is that Baldingboy and I will be able to hunt without one of our cell phones going off every five minutes, being interupted with important information like, "The neighbor is cutting his grass, or can you pick up some milk on the way home?" and his and my favorite "Where are you and what time are you coming home?" Also we get a chance to get away and focus on nothing but metal detecting and making new friends for 5 whole days!!!! That is the most me time I will have ever gotten since I got married 11 years ago. The thrill of maybe finding something good is also there, as is the thrill of being there when someone else finds something good. I could go on and on but I think that is a good start. :) :D ;D

How will the CTH compare to the MD Jamboree posted over on 'Todays Finds' thread? I think we can one-up them because cows have four t--ts,right?Besides,our ladies are prettier!
