I know what you mean. I initially had thought about starting my trip out in Sep and attending the Cherokee Strip celebration.....however, as you know, "other" things have come up. Also, my middle brother's graduating class (Enid High School 1967) coordinated their class reunion to coincide with the Cherokee Strip celebration. From what I have heard, Enid will definitely be VERY busy town. My great grandfathers and grandfathers participated in the Land Run. Geez, I wonder if that's what our hunt is going to look like.....everybody lined up, waiting for the gun to fire..... Wait a minute......there's MasterEagle and BaldingBoy sneaking over the line trying to find the first zipper pull! LOL

I think that would have been neat to travel with this wagon to Caldwell, KS....and arrive at the CTH in style! LOL

TW....Fun? You just wait until CTH.....The Rowdy Bunch is going to rock the streets of Caldwell, Kansas!....starting with the cow chip throwing contest. Lordy, can you imagine....somebody actually claiming to have invented that sport? And then, they probably perfected the sport even further years later by determining that it would be better to let them dry first.

Come on CTH! The Rowdy Bunch is getting restless!

Made a trip south about 80 miles to check out a site. On the road were some rodeo bulls that jumped the fence. Evy and I elected to get in some practice on a cattle drive of our own. LOL She took the pics while I drove.

Stoney, that looks like a lot of bull to me

Looking forward to diggin some dirt (got my shovel sharpened, fresh batteries and a list of things to bring), don't matter if I find anything or not, it sounds like fun and to meet friends that share a common interest.

My sons won't be coming along, they just bought a school car and they feel it's important to work to make payments. (actually kinda shocked me when they said that). As predicted FOOTBALL season is in, so the Mrs has her priorities (yes, I am a football husband...her hobby is football, mine is MD'ing - she made the comment about the house being quiet that weekend ).
