FYI, I'm not hunting but I'm bringing the DeLeon, Cibola, and Fisher in case someone needs a backup.

I am going to try something different this time. I am bringing my usual GTI 2500 but I plan on artifact hunting a lot with my Sea Hunter II with a 14" coil. It is a PI machine and will go really deep. Problem is you don't now how deep or don't have a clue what size the item might be. I am spoiled by the GTI. I am bringing a small spade in case I get a really solid hit at 15 to 20" or so. But don't worry, I'll fill the hole nicely. Last year I pooped out or my back pooped out at JD's hunt in Missouri and had to sit out most of the hunt. This year I have special permission to bring my ATV and promised to be careful about damaging the terrain. So, if it is hot, maybe I can be the water boy and carry some cold drinks around to everybody? About ten bucks for a cold coke or pepsi sounds about right don't it? Just kidding, honest. We may have some cold drinks there and if so I would be glad to take a minute or two off and bring everyone a cold drink. So Burdie I am volunteering to help out if needed. M nty

As things developed, I booked one hotel, then another, then another. I STILL haven't cancelled the first two, Caldwell Hotel and the Holiday Inn in Ponca City. Am going to cancel today. Is anybody looking for a room, especially in Caldwell? If so, let me know and we'll swap our room over to you before they give it away to someone else.

I will be using my MXT and I will have old faithfull as well, my IDX/Pro. I have recently put a DX1 Sunray probe on the MXT and will be using the Super 12 coil that I just got as well.

ME, if time permits I would like you to show me the basics on your Explorer. I was this close (-) to getting one 5 years ago but after borrowing a friends and trying it, I decided it would take more patience to learn than I was willing to give it. I tried an MXT which was new at the time and it was so easy I opted for it and have no regrets, it has served me well.

I will gladly go over the Beast with you. I may confuse you more than help you but I love the thing and I will be more than happy to show it to you. My biggest problem with the thing has been figuring out how to program it. I read the manual 8 times now and it is very vague in some places but Captn_SE and others have helped me out quite a bit.

Thanks to Noodle looks like I will be staying in the Caldwell Hotel (motel?). I know some of you may be saying YIPEE right now, but it saves me and BB the hassle and time of pulling a 28 foot trailer 9 and a half hours away!!
