THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

The gun collection use to be in an old hotel, but several years ago it was moved to its own seperate site. It is really fascinating if you are a gun nut. Plan to spend at leasts a couple of hours there if you stop off. A couple of hours is a whirlwind visit for a real gunnut. Just ask anyone in town and they can tell you where it is. I don't have the address, but Claremore isn't a very big town. If you come through Tulsa, Gilcrease museum is a great place to visit. It's just off I-244 (412) on the West side of downtown Tulsa and anyone coming from that direction will go right by it.Watch for Gilcrease Museum exit just after you pass through downtown Tulsa going west. It has a snack bar with buffalo burgers, but its main attraction is western artifacts and paintings and sculpture by Remington and other artists of note. Two hours at least to see most of it. They have the biggest collection of points I have ever seen, located in the basement area of the museum. If you continue west on I-244 (412) you will pass through Sand Springs. Be sure to wave at me when you go through but don't blink or you will miss it ! Monty

I cannot believe that Dekalb is not going to be there with his beautiful A$$.Theresa, come anyway if you can't get that guy to commit.

Getting closer all the time my friends. Mental granny, Stoney, Mrstimberwolf, and Timberwolf was in Caldwell today. Nice meeting you Timberwolf family.

We have some really great refrigerator boxes to use for porta-potties so we are ready for the big hunt. :D We are adding two more prizes this next week.

Hunted the Chisholm trail today with Mental granny and Stoney. They found some cool stuff I didn't as usual.

That place is going to be hunted out before the 'Hunt'. I hope those refridgerator boxes are not 'apartment' size! Nana, don't forget to close the flap! OK,Timberwolf, give us the scoop on the place.

Burdie,

It was very nice meeting you, and thank you for showing us around.
I think the hunt is going to be a lot of fun. We are looking forward to it.

WSD, the place we hunted is about a mile or so away from the CTH field. As for those boxes, they're a bit tall and skinny. You might want to be careful if the prairie winds pick up. :D

Hope you didn't take me serious about the 'hunt'.Burdie had told me there were a couple other areas around there he wanted to check out sometime.Burdie and Stoney have been around long enough to know better and I knew better,it was just that Burdie hadn't explained it and someone may have got the wrong impression reading his post. Thanks for clearing it up for anyone who thought different.Single door refridgerator boxes, huh?Hope that Kansas wind lays down that day!

Just to show a few thing from a different site that we hunted today. We were about a mile away from the "Hunt" site. Just a small sample of what can be found in the Caldwell area--a zipper pull (Mastereagle--it's yours when you get here.), part of a medallion that a disc or plow hit(looks to be a Modern Woodmen of America), a nicely designed pin that was plated at one point (there are still 2 blue stones in the corners), and a .45/75 rifle cartridge (probably from an 1876 Winchester).

NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO HUNT THIS SITE OR TO BE ON THE PROPERTY AND THEY MEAN IT!! MG checked on the backside to see how high the grass was today. When I got home my wife got a call that if I didn't know about who was down there they were going to call the police. Luckily she knew we were down there. I asked them to watch and not let anyone hunt it but I didn't think about us being there to look.
I run an honest hunt and I assume you trust me since you sent me money. If you do not trust me you were not very smart to send me money for the hunt. I will say again for the last time. The place has been lightly hunted and not sure if all the land has been hunted. I know targets are out there because We put flags up when ever we got a signal. We pulled them up to. TNetters know a place is never hunted out any way. I planted prize tokens. If you find anything else that's great. That's not the purpose of the hunt. Getting to know your brothers and sisters, having a great time and learning something about MD'n
On the average the Chisholm trail was a mile wide and over 1100 miles long. I have a few more places on the Trail to hunt than that site. Relax it will be nice and tidy for you when you get here. For those that might be concerned the boxes was just a joke. If you have any concerns e-mail me. That is about all I can say about it.
Burdie

Didn't take it that way at all Burdie.

Wow that Zipper Pull is AWESOME!

I had no concerns or problems there Burdie. As long as I get to meet some folks and swing the coil a little the trip will be worth it for me, heck just taking the road trip with Baldingboy will be worth 1000 times the price of admission to me!! Oh wait that is what he is charging me for the ride! ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D :D :)

If I find anything while there that will just be an added bonus.

oh yeah 25 Days!

Everyone take caution! It appears that he has replaced that dangerous,evil,relic-finding,'Blue Shirt'! He is helpless without it!

WSD, the shirt is still missing. Like the FBI, sometimes they use an outdated photo. LOL

'Whew!'

As a matter of fact that is my lucky blue prospecting shirt! But that was before I wore it for two years straight metal detecting. Sigh..it brings tears to my eyes. And honestly, I have not had a really good find since my sneaky wife sent it to Goodwill! I hope it has found a good home but more likely they picked it up with a long stick and tossed it into a trash bin. Gotta' go now, all choked up..M :'( nty

Will someone tell me if I was seeing things or not. I could had sworn I saw Stoney's pic here when I was reviewing the thread last week. But, what caught my eye, I believe was Timberwolf portraying Stoney ??? Now, I can't find it...Have I lost it yet?
