THE CHISHOLM TRAIL HUNT

I can hardly wait, it's seem so long till Oct. But there are some things I want to do for the hunt, and I look at the the time and think I've got to get them finished.

Eagle you really should tell your wife about the A$$ she would love it and like Burdie said there will be all kind of stuff to go see at that time around Caldwell.

TW, I would be more than happy to stop by your wifes place and tell her about the A$$ socitey if you haven't, and maybe do some hunting if you haven't taken her out.
Stoney told ya if you need more photos for the "Mug Shot" section I can look to see if I have any grade school ones around.

Gee this is going to be so much fun I can hardly wait!

Hi Guys and Gals,
Have been away for a few weeks recuperating from hand surgery; getting the other one cut on tomorrow. Gotta get all the kinks out so I can hold that MD without my hands going to sleep on me! :P

Where is everybody staying? I booked my A$$ and self into the Holiday Inn at Ponca City. That's the smokin' hotel. Anybody else already booked there? Good rate, $66/night, thanks to Mental Granny. Anyway, Nana PM'd me wanting to know, and good thing she did because I hadn't made my reservations yet, but just did.

Thanks! It's also great to see the NEW folks coming to join the madness! :D

Caldwell was a tad rough and the saloon perhaps rougher. One resident complained of the Red Light saloon:

The scenes there presented reminded me of the early times in Cheyenne, when murcer ran riot and the pistol was the only argument.

Outside of Caldwell was a hill where the damsels would maintain a lookout for the trail herds coming toward town. Thus with warning, the saloons and girls could get ready for the expected rush of business. Caldwell in its first three years went through nine town marshals, several having met their Maker near the saloon. On June 22, 1882, the town's tenth marshal was killed in the Red Light Saloon. With the killing of Marshal George S. Brown, Caldwell had enough of the saloon. The proprietor and proprietress of the saloon, George and Maggie Wood, found it expedient to leave town. As the town residents were bidding the Woods farewell, the saloon mysteriously caught fire and burned down.

There's a hill in Kansas?

Mine too, I read about these hunts, but none are ever close enough.

I did ask the Mrs. if she wanted to go with me - I DID NOT MENTION THE A$$ ORGANIZATION EITHER (I might be be slow, but I sure ain't ignorant ;) ;D) :-X. She's uncommitted. Hopefully, on Wed. I will know about schedules.
The whole town will have sales and arts and crafts that weekend. Does she like that eagle? Even a sculpture that sells his items for $1500 each.

She's not the craft type. I am a football husband, so most likely she will be glued to TV and radio listening to her Huskers. Her hobbies is her 2 sons. Her Pride is on the left and Joy is on the right... ;D

Uh er ah...she's not there...uh er ah, I don't know when she'll be back, hehe.

All of those photos have been destroyed by MIB's. You know...security issue ;) But thanks anyway.

Hello. Has the hunt filled up? I know the deadline has past but I only found out about this the other day from borninok.

Is there any way to register still?

We will take hunters till end of August. Then we will shut it down. A small few need to still pay or be left out. We need fees to get our next goal. A very nice detector.

No fair trying to cut off my ponytail ;)

Burdie, is that the hatchet you were telling me about? It does look old. Nice beadwork, looks like the peyote stitch.

I'll be bringing my big detector, and we'll clean all the relics out of that field. I sure hope we find some cool relics (besides us attendees). I'll be lookin for the 6 shooter to go with that shotgun.

I gettin all excited now
